Day four

This is a photo Jack snapped
of me and my laundry lady and neighbor, Debby.
As luck would have it, our washing machine
died as soon as it filled when Jack was
doing a load of laundry.
Deb was kind enough to wash and dry it for us.
I needed my jammies and yoga pants for the weekend!

Had I known he was going to take pictures,
I would have lost 10 pounds before I walked across the street.
Anyway, everything (even the fitted sheets) was so
nicely folded, we are just going to leave it
all in the basket as it is.

There was some sort of precipitation all day.
the crew worked till 2:00.

this is the front.

the side, again

another view of the side

and here is the back.
Every thing, except Barney, will be covered with vinyl.

Look it my sweet princess at the gate.

and, again at  my handsome prince.
(my other handsome prince is taking a nap)

I good day to bake.

and make a little turkey soup.

I have sewed very little since work started.
This weekend, I will be picking out outside lights,
and new curtain rods for the side and garage doors.
And hoping no more appliances die.

Day three

Well,
it's too late for a before picture.
but here is what things look like at
the end of day three.

I told the young man who is building
the side porch to put a tv cable in
so we could turn it in to a place to
watch golf and football.

We've been backing into the garage
forever without hitting the little side porch.

TaaaaaaaaDaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!
Here is the new siding.
I love it as much as my new doors.

And here is what's left to do.
The pups are handling this all very well,
but as soon as the crew leaves,
they crash.
we do too.

Ladder envy

I have to tell you I'm in love.
Have you ever seen such an assortment of ladders?
I love them all.
The small and the tall.

All the stuff they brought to work is pretty cool.

But I love the ladders the best.

We got a peek at the siding
and we love the color, still.

We are having a roof put over the side entry.
A few more feet out (and a few more $$$$$$) and we could have had a carport.

This is the new front door, all framed up.

Might be hard to tell from this picture,
but it is pouring down the snow and has been for
an hour, now.

So we have even more to watch out the new front window.

My two sweet sofa supervisors

and my best girlfriend
and I are enjoying a fire
and all the activity.

Wish you could be here.

I didn't get photos of the garage windows
or the or the basement windows.
there is some trim work to do on the inside of the
doors.  the rest of the work will be outside.

it is supposed to rain and snow tomorrow.
but we have clean new windows to watch it.

sewing saturday

Every other Saturday,
I sew with the most amazing group of women.

We all bring whatever we want to work on and something
to share with the group for lunch.

Yesterday, we made little dresses for Africa.

I don't fancy myself a garment maker, but this
pattern required only basic sewing skills.

look how beautiful!!!!!

The height of sewing sewphistication is having
pins that match your fabric.

I wish I would have taken more pictures,
but I was sew busy sewing.

These sewing Saturdays are the sweetest days!

I am so blessed to have found these women who are
sew special.

what i'm up up to

this is how my studio looked when i
started working, yesterday.

where did all this stuff come from?

the day started with pulling out a few stitches from this little
quilt i'm working on.
i'm planning on doing some free motion
quilting on it, just getting up the courage
because i really like it and don't want to mess it up.

bored with this for the moment, i decided to experiment
with this granny square block.

i was so happy with it,
i spent the rest of the day cutting a million and one 2.5 inch squares to make a
50 by 60 inch quilt. all the blocks will be different.
i also baked a pumpkin pie, and make chili.

my two best boys held down the sofa for me.

good help is hard to get.

this morning i am planning to bake cookies and
neaten up the studio.
this afternoon i am making
roast beast and jack's daughter and granddaughter
are coming for dinner and hopefully some
crafting.  i have an idea for something
we can all make together (even jack).

we'll see how that goes.........
