Let there be a light

What ever we choose will hang a little higher
that what my lovely assistant is holding it.

there will be some sort of window treatment, which may or may not be
the same fabric as the sliding door.

as you can see the color is perfect and whatever fabric is on the window,
will have the same blues.  I ordered samples from the
same line yesterday.  If I make them full length, it will probably be best
to use the same fabric.

the light on the right is the first one I bought it is
very drab.

the base cabinet in the left will be built up to
be flush with the others.  the microwave will be above the range.
Well, that's all for now.
rest up.

the carr kitchen project

this is just a brief update on what our crew has
accomplished in five days.  a lot of the work has been behind the scenes
(wiring in the attic and basement and some insulation
blown into the walls).

firstlly
the pendant over the sink

you can spend a lot of time online shopping but,
you won't find anything with as much simple elegance as a
fat yellow wire.

another couple of beautiful yellow wires dedicated for our
dishwasher and garbage disposal.

How do you like the way this light has been updated?

A huge savings over buying a $400 chandelier.

and here's the floor.  If we leave it like this, it could double as seating.

this will be the wall color.

We may have something pretty to show by the weekend.

Out with the old

Everyone loves a good kitchen remodel
when they can watch it on HGTV.
But, I have a new camera and I'm not afraid
to use it.  So, sit back with a big bowl of popcorn (make sure it will last
three or four weeks) and watch the fun.

Jack and I started today by emptying the cabinets.
We have stuff stored in every room of the house.

I was so tempted to just throw out all of the dishes and pots and pans
(tomorrow is trash day)
and just buy new when it is all done.
None of the dish towels will match so why keep the
dishes???

We don't have a new clock, yet.

Good bye old stuff.

This is the last "before" picture.

Since this is a quilty blog, I'm throwing in a few pics of quilt
that I have really pushed myself to finish.  It just wasn't what
I'd hoped and I wanted to abandon it, but I finished the last big
block Friday.

I will be throwing in some small blocks like the one below with
white sashing all around.

Wonder what Jack is so happy about????
